massage Therapy Kirkcaldy
At Peak Physique we aim to bring you the best in remedial therapy in Scotland. Utilising multiple skills and modalities we treat the body as a whole unit and strive to get you pain-free in as few appointments as possible.
SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage is used to aid recovery from injuries from all areas of life not just sporting events. An injury may result from acute trauma or repetitive stress associated with athletic or day to day activities. Injuries can affect bones or soft tissue.
You will receive a full consultation to assess your needs before we start the massage, a treatment plan for aftercare and a schedule for follow up appointments.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
With Deep Tissue Massage therapy, patients claim to feel relaxed and renewed after each session. Perfect for maintaining the function of muscles during training season or just to prevent loss of mobility. I’m trained in holistic therapy techniques, so I tailor your session to work on your specific goals and needs. Using all of the skills I have learned and developed in one session to bring you the best results possible. I love showing my patients how just a few treatments can make an enormous difference to their health.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
Trigger Point Therapy is a healing technique based on the principle of free and uninterrupted energy flow and helps activate the natural healing processes in each patient's body as well as to restore their physical and emotional well-being. As a certified Massage Therapist, I help patients reduce their stress and anxiety, among other ailments.
Trigger Point Therapy is used as part of all massage appointments.
DRY CUPPING
The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite.
Dry Cupping can be used in any Sports Massage or Deep tissue appointment. Please request in notes at point of booking.
IASTM
Instrument assisted soft tissue therapy
(IASTM) is a technique we often use in physical therapy. IASTM works like a standard massage, but specialized instruments are used in place of a physical therapist's hands. These instruments allow more direct treatment of the soft tissues involved with movement.
Assisted Stretch Therapy
The overall goal of stretch therapy is to treat muscle tightness, joint imbalances, and tissue restrictions that cause movement distortions, aches and pains, and increased risk of injury.
Over time, stretch therapy improves your range of motion, leading to improved movement patterns and fewer injuries.
Regardless of your occupation or preferred fitness activity, you likely engage in repetitive movements that lead to imbalances in muscle length and joint range of motion over time.
